Wire Head catching a boat load….
Isn’t he something? I did a series of Wire Heads. Would love to do more. But onward with new designs/ideas is the best direction. 🙂
Went to the eye Dr. today. I’m not going blind. 🙂 Didn’t even need new glasses according to her. More drops, eye cream stuff. Allergies. Well, what’s new with that? The wind has been blowing in Texas for over a month. Lots of dust in the air. We finally got rain in our area yesterday. So thankful for that. No Dust! Yeah. But it sure took a lot of rain dancing to get that stuff falling from the sky. LOL I’m about wore out…. 😉
Tomorrow I’ll be putting more art on www.pjhornbergerfolkart.com. What am I saying… I just put a large landscape on there. More to come tonight and tomorrow. Sneak a peek. Did you know you can leave comments on there? No joke. I thought that was cool. Someone came up with the idea that I do a WIP page with photos on the website. Just might be doing that.
Here’s another Wire Head to make you giggle.
(no you cannot use my design… :-] you can think up somthin’ on your own if you put some time into it. It’s called ‘work’. LOL don’t take the easy route and copy…. it’s not nice, and it’s against the law!)
Ya’ll have a good weekend. Spend some time with people you like… that make you laugh. xo
If you haven’t checked out my new and improved website yet… hurry! It’s such an improvement. I’ve got several pieces on, and more to come. Please leave a comment and let me know what you think! You can even sign up to get updates when new art appears. LOL Now is that fancy or what?! 🙂 Yes, I am easily amused. 😉
This new one is easy for me to work on, easy for you to look at folk art. The arrows work!! Fly Boy is on there. Stop by and say ‘hello’. He’ll tell you the latest…
Okay… I thought I was going blind… then R mentions something about I should go to the eye Dr…. then something about how long I’ve been wearing these glasses…. then eye strain was mentioned… guess what… I don’t think I’m going blind.
I have bad eye strain. Whew! That was a close one. Tomorrow I’ll go see if the Dr. agrees with my diagnosis…. of coarse she will… new glasses… then I’ll be dangerous again.
So for now, I’m resting my eyes… and don’t be telling R any different. 🙂
The beginning of my new improved www.pjhornbergerfolkart.com web site is up and running. Not much on there yet, but will be very very soon. Remember…. I’m resting my eyes…:)
Have a good one….xoxoxo
I’ll be having more of these in the gallery very soon. These folk flower pots are so fun. You can hang them on the wall, or sit on a table. Makes me smile.
My website www.pjhornbergerfolkart.com is under major construction. Whole new look. The baby’s gonna have new shoes… LOL So, it may be down for a couple of days… might not have a ton of stuff on it… but it’s going to be bigger and better. Easier to shop… easier to do…. and better lookin’. My gosh, I think I like it already. 😉
Ya’ll have a great day. Have some fun. Wave at somebody… anybody. They’ll be confused the rest of the day wonderin’ who you are… you can giggle just thinkin’ about it. lol
He’s from a few years ago. I’ve painted that pig every size you can imagine. But they’re all originals. I think I’ll do him again…. LOL
www.pjhornbergerfolkart.com a good place to look for pigs….
These two bring back lots of happy memories. When I first started wood carving I did relief. (1980) Then I decided I needed to try in the round. This guy with huge feet was the first. LOL I had a piece of balsa wood. I carved off his ears, then his arms and half his face. I stopped on his feet. R was digging out stuff and found him. So glad he’s still here to remind me where I started.
The duck, a Merganzer I think, was in 1983. I was carving lots of miniature ducks by that time. I had gotten smarter… I was carving basswood by then. I even won a first place ribbon at the Houston Woodcarvers Show. Didn’t thrill me like I thought it would. When I sold the first duck… that’s what impressed me. I hugged that woman for way too long… until Richard made me turn her loose. She was scared… but she bought more miniature ducks from me.
Thanks for listening to my stories…. memories. Follow those dreams. Make those goals. It’s all possible. Just look at that little guy I “carved”. Didn’t hurt my feelings he didn’t have any arms left. Gave me high hopes for the next one not loosing his arms. LOL
I haven’t finished the second page. I wanted to show the actual page under the paint (around the edges). That will give you an idea of how those colors will show thru if you use craft paint with a little medium on the page. Text will look cool showing thru also.
Describing how I do this isn’t my best talent. 😉 I’m better at videos, I think. Also, lots of the pens I used on this are metallic, shiny, or have a tad of glitter. Of course you can’t see any of that. LOL duh…. For me, those pens make it more fun.
Practice lettering on copy paper. Don’t be afraid of it. You don’t have to be the best…. and don’t compare yours to mine, or anybody else’s. If you want to use theirs or mine as a guide, go for it. But don’t beat yourself up. It’s suppose to be your art…. and suppose to be fun. We’re all way too critical of ourselves. Give that up… it gets in your way of doing good stuff.
If you go back on my blog, somewhere I show the button cover on this book. If you’re interested in doing one, let me know. I’ll tell you how I did it, and got the buttons to stay put. LOL
www.pjhornbergerfolkart.com an inspiring place to decorate your nest…
