Suggestion…

Crows and Sunflowers

Now don’t get crazy on me… I have a suggestion.  Buy really cheap bread,  keep it in the car.  On those days that make you crazy running from here to there… everyone seems to be driving like idiots… you’re late… have to make one more stop….

Slow way down.  Sit in your car in the parking lot of the grocery store,  Target, wherever. Take a minute or two,  get out a slice of bread,  throw it out the window piece by piece.  You’re going to have new best friends.  Give ’em a minute…  sparrows…  black birds… they’ll start showing up.  You’re giving a party in less than 5 to 10 minutes.  You’re gonna be so popular.

They’ll perform for you… you can watch them gossip,  sing,  strut,  and break out in big arguments.  Last week I watched a handsome  blue/black bird do the dance of love.  And he was good at it.  Going around in circles, dragging his wings,  his head way back making himself look goooood.  Of course Ms. Priss was not impressed.  Didn’t bother him none.  He knew he looked good… and he could sing!

Now to tell you the secret of how I came to this idea.  Years ago,  I was parking when this guy in a welding truck pulled up way too close beside me… and crooked.  It really irritated me.  I couldn’t  have gotten the right hand door open if I’d wanted to.  Went in the store,  shopped,  still thinking about Mr. Macho.  Then I walked past the bird feed…. in the gallon jugs.

Big smile.. put one in my buggy.  Got out to my car,  Mr. Macho still parked there.  I opened that bird feed,  poured some all around his big ol’ truck.. then couldn’t resist putting some on the bed of his truck.  Not a lot.. just enough.

As I was driving off,  my new best friends were painting his big ol’ macho welding truck.  And they were doing a really nice job of it.  To say it was inspiring just isn’t enough.  I smiled for days and days.  Still makes me smile.

So,  when you’re bored, cranky,  or just not having fun… remember those birds.  They can be your new best friends.  LOL  note:  I have since switched to cheap bread, not quite as messy. 🙂

www.pjhornbergerfolkart.com  could be your favorite store to shop in your gown…
